This page explains what the WebNotes browser extension collects and how it handles your data. In short: everything stays on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, sold, or shared.
1. About the data
WebNotes collects no personal data. It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or fingerprinting, and it never contacts a server.
- Notes and settings — the sticky notes you write and your preferences are the only data the extension handles.
- Site address — the extension reads the address of the website you are on so it can show the notes belonging to that site. It does not record your browsing history.
2. Permissions and why
The extension requests exactly two permissions, both needed to do its single job:
storage — saves your notes and settings in the browser's own local storage, so they persist on the same site across visits and keep working when you are offline.
activeTab — granted only when you click the extension icon. It lets the extension read the current tab's address to show the right note for that site. It is on-demand and not used to collect browsing history.
3. How your data is stored
All data lives in your browser's local storage on your machine. WebNotes has no backend, no cloud account, and no network requests.
4. Deleting your data
- Delete individual notes from the extension at any time.
- Clear the site's browser data for the extension to remove everything.
- Uninstalling the extension removes all of its data completely.
5. Changes to this policy
If the extension's handling of data changes in a future version, this page will be updated, and the new effective date shown above will change.

3. 数据如何保存
所有数据都存放在你自己电脑上的浏览器本地存储中。WebNotes 没有后端、没有云账号、没有任何网络请求。
4. 删除你的数据
- 可随时在扩展里删除单条便签。
- 清除浏览器里该扩展的站点数据即可清空全部。
- 卸载扩展即彻底删除它的所有数据。
5. 政策变更
如果未来版本在数据处理上发生变化，本页将同步更新，顶部的新生效日期也会随之改变。
